Arranging an assessment

Appointments are made through the hospital's outpatient line or through the appointment service. If you are travelling from outside Chongqing, say so when you book, because the assessment and any pre-operative tests can sometimes be arranged across fewer visits. You can also use the contact page on this site to ask a question before booking.

What to bring

Bring any previous facial surgery records, a list of your current medicines and allergies, and the names of any conditions you are being treated for. If you have had filler or energy-device treatment in the last two years, note when and where, because it changes both the assessment and the plan. Photographs from earlier years are more useful than you would expect, because they show how your jawline sat before it changed.

What happens at the consultation

Expect an examination rather than a presentation. The surgeon will look at your jawline at rest and in movement, lift the cheek tissue by hand to see how much of the change is descent, assess the skin separately from the fat, check the profile and the bite, and ask about weight history. You should leave knowing what has changed, whether treatment is justified, what it would cost you in recovery and scars, and what happens if you decide against it. That last answer is a real one.

Asking a question without booking

Questions about the content of this site — including any correction you believe should be made to it — are welcome through the hospital's administration line. Clinical questions about your own case are best answered in person, and we will say so rather than guess.
